1001-The story of Islami.Com- In the year 118 Hijriyah, born a scholar named Yazid bin Harun bin Zadzi. The familiar call of the ethnic Bukhara, an area now in Afghanistan, is Abu Khalid. He was born and raised in the area around Baghdad, Iraq.
The teacher of Imam Ahmad bin Hambal has an extraordinary charisma. The charisma arose because of the testimony of the teachers and his disciples who knew him as a tsiqah scholar. Almost none of his teachers and students found him lacking. The hadith he has narrated is a saheeh hadeeth.
The strong recitation of Abu Khalid Yazid bin Harun was well known throughout the Muslim lands at the time. In fact, from that side, he defeated one of the teachers of Imam Syafi'i, Waqi 'bin Al-Jarrah. Imam Ahmad bin Hambal states that the strength of the transmission of hadith from Yazid ibn Aaron to the rank of mutqin is more than hafiz.
Imam Ash-Shafi'i once witnessed that Yazid ibn Harun memorized about 24 thousand hadith, following sanadnya.
In addition to the excess of rote and morals, Yazid bin Harun is known as a figure of scholars who have extraordinary powers of worship. He used to pray from Isha to Shubuh, almost without rest. And accustomed to praying from the start of Zhuhur until the time comes Ashar, also without rest. This is usually done by the clergy for 47 years.
Throughout the prayer and munajat, Yazid bin Harun often weep because of his submission to Allah swt. So often crying, scholars are firm in the matter of amar ma'ruf and this evil nahyu suffered gradually blindness. Start from the left eye, then the right.
If he is giving ta'lim in Baghdad, about 70 thousand people are present to listen to his studies. Included among them is Imam Ahmad bin Hambal.
Although as a teacher, Yazid bin Harun greatly respects Imam Ahmad bin Hambal. One time, when he was a little joking while filling in a recitation, one of the participants heard a cough. Yazid also said, "Who just cleared his throat?"
That thing he asked because of his blind physical condition and sensitivity of him in case there is something wrong from his behavior. Someone replied, "That's Ahmad bin Hambal's voice!"
Yazid bin Harun immediately stated, "Why do not you tell me that Ahmad bin Hambal is here, so I will not joke in front of you!"
It is this extraordinary charisma that makes the ruler of Al-Ma'mun dare not to manifold as long as the scholar is alive.
Al-Makmun once said, if only Yazid bin Harun did not exist, I have declared that the Qur'an is a creature.
A palace staff asked, "Why are you so reluctant with Yazid bin Aaron?"
Al-Makmun explained, I deeply recognize his charisma that is so respected and made reference by almost all of my people. If I say that, and surely Yazid bin Harun will argue with me, then the people will flare up. And that's a disaster for me!
Yazid bin Harun died at the age of 89 years in the reign of Al-Makmun, in 206 Hijriyah.
A friend of Imam Ahmad bin Hambal told of a dream he experienced. In the dream, he meets with Yazid ibn Aaron. He asked, "Are you visited by the Angel Munkar and Nakir after you are buried?"
In the dream, Yazid bin Aaron replied, "Right. They asked me: who is your Lord? What is your religion?"
Then I replied, "Is this a question like this that I asked for? Indeed, when in the world, I used to teach that to men! "
To find such an answer, the Angel Munkar and Nakir stated, "You are right. Therefore, please sleep like a newlywed. "(Muhammadnuh@eramuslim.com) / Min 'Alam As-Salaf
